Simply, swimmingly silver. Very "New Years" don't ya think?

If These Walls Could Talk.

While purusing Apartment Therapy this evening I noticed how
much the look of the walls in a room affects my initial opinion of the rooms.
I've made this kind of observation before, but here's some more
eye candy to stir up some "conversation".
"I love to think outside the box. You could say I am the industrious type."
"I am whimsical...I love to dream. My favorite book is
The Secret Garden and I welcome parties that include pitchers of sangria."
"Call me Sassy McSasserton because I move a mile
a minute and love a good party"
"I love the past but also appreciate having a clean outlook on the future. A fresh coat of paint and some windex can do wonders for the soul."
"I'm sorry, are you in this room? I wouldn't have noticed because
I am so awesome that I keep staring at myself in the mirror.
You agree, don't you? Come on and give me a hug."
"I am smart, sexy, artsy, and quite possibly the most
well put together bedroom you've ever seen.
I've got everything you need to be inspired."
"........................................."

That last room is mute.

Mad About Monday.

This week's Mad About Monday goes to this modern floral rug from Target. It is the newest addition to my bedroom which can best be described as schizophrenic. I posted a little while back about pillows I purchased for it that are now resting on the day bed in my office. They like it better out there. Before that I had a neon-plaid Ralph Lauren spread. It has since been covered up in a white duvet. What drew me to this rug are the grey and brown tones. I like the gold too. Not as crazy about the burnt red-orange but I am hoping the room as a whole will "figure itself out" soon enough.

Merry Christmas, Indeed!

My nephew is here and words cannot describe what it is like to instantly fall in love with a little baby like I just did.  Literally the best Christmas present ever. I'll share some of him soon, but for now here are just a couple Christmasy pics from around my place.
This was my big attempt at decorating;) Definitely my most simple wreath yet. Much better experience making this in comparison to the "lima bean wreath debacle of spring 2010." I didn't share anything about that one with you guys because it never made it onto my door. 3 hours down the drain. Anyway, if you would like to replicate the ribbon wreath above, all you need is a foam wreath form and about 8 spools of assorted ribbon. Start cutting by testing out the length needed to go around the form and then simply tie and knot.  I know it is too late for you to make one for Christmas but this would be adorable in shades of blue and silver to brighten your front door for the rest of the winter.

Anxiously Awaiting.

My radio silence can be best explained by a flurry of Christmas events, end-of-semester AWESOMENESS {note sarcasm}, and the birth of my nephew {which is scheduled for tomorrow!}. I have a lot to share with you all but you will have to wait until I have both my sanity and my camera back. It has been borrowed by my sister so that the birth can be documented properly with it.

Amidst the craziness, something told me to click on the Serena & Lilly 75% off sale e-mail today...I suppose it was my subconscious alerting me that the one present I have wanted to give my sister since the beginning of her pregnancy was, indeed, 75% off or, perhaps it was a Christmas miracle?...Yep. Christmas miracle. Now she can be as stylish as Nicole Kidman;)
